Meet the Elders

About Elders at Westport Church:

Westport Church is led by a plurality of Elders who guard the beliefs, mission and values of the church. The role of the Elder Team is to provide oversight, accountability and wisdom for the direction of the church.

The Staff Team (Meet the Staff) is responsible for daily operations and decisions, but the Elders keep the staff aligned to our vision and values.

Elders are called upon to serve and support the Westport community in areas that include prayer, peacemaking, teaching, discipline, care giving and corporate decision making.

Qualifications:

Elders are men who have a unique responsibility for leading the community, just as they do in their own homes.
Elders are men who are interested in being an elder.
Elders are men who are great examples as Christ-followers.
Elders are men who are able to discern truth from error.
Elders are men who were already acting like elders.
