Our Story
A Story of Faith, Sacrifice and Excitement.
In 2005, a few families gathered together in a small home to dream about starting a new church in our region. We dreamed of a church that would be value-centered and that would influence the western region of Portland for Christ in a significant way. By 2006, the group had grown to several dozen adults who were passionately committed to launching Westport Church.
With the Lord's favor, and the help of several key partners around the country, Westport Church launched the following Easter Sunday (2006) at Century High School in Hillsboro. In December 2006, Westport moved to an office park in the Tanasbourne Business Park right off Hwy 26 where we experienced four years of God's favor in and through us.
In 2010, we reached the limits of the Tanasbourne location and began a search for another location that would offer more capacity. By the end of the year, we were able to secure a long-term lease for our present location in the Amberglen Business Park, and moved in March 2011.
In these short few years, Westport has developed a reputation for generosity, authentic community and no-strings-attached service in Hillsboro, Beaverton and beyond as we live out our Mission:
Helping people ENCOUNTER Jesus, EXPERIENCE real relationships, and EXTEND God's Kingdom (e3).
